MTC - The Boy at The Edge of Everything

Kids theatre shows often just throw colour and cuteness at young eyes. Thankfully, this production didn't. Intelligent words served with entertainment and pathos. Kudos to the MTC team for putting this show on, it was a treat to film it.

Flinders Quartet - Melbourne Recital Centre

Beautiful tunes from the new lineup of the Flinders Quartet

Resilient Cities

The City of Melbourne is a large and complex organisaistaion. What sets it apart is there commitment to exploring possibilities. And one of those possibilities is how they engage the city for the future. The first of what could be a possible series of videos engaged with the 100 Resilient Cities Project.

Short Film - The Lights

Back in 2007 when BATCHEDIT was all about stitching showreel's together for actors, I met Fabienne Parr. 8 years later, she gets back in contact and wants to film a scene for her new reel. It was bliss. Extraordinary bliss.

Theatre - Melbourne Theatre Company Launch

Well this was a biggun. 13 Videos all up, all from 4 hours of filming. And some slam bash editing. And ALL delivered in 4K resolution, a first me thinks for the theatre world in Melbourne. You can view the videos in 4K by clicking the cog in the player, that said, Australia's internets aren't that worldly, so it may chug chug chug.

And lastly, the uber cool, we may as well be in Ocean's 11, 12 or 13 Launch Video

Live Performance - NPCO

Always a delight to listen to the New Palm Court Orchestra and their final session at Deakin Edge at Fed Square was no exception.

Theatre - MTC 2016 Launch

The joy of the theatre can't get much better than the longest running theatre company in Australia, the Melbourne Theatre Company.

BATCHEDIT took the reigns on producing content for their 2016 launch and thus far, one of the 15 ! videos has made it online. And what's better, they agreed to take on the power of 4K resolution footage. I think it's a first for Aus Theatre, but don't bank on it.

And here a snappy Launch Video!

Live Performance - This is Eden

Emily Goddard is a pretty audacious performer, and on a recent trip to Albury Wadonga, I got the chance to watch her one woman show not once but twice. A remarkable performance and am looking forward to sharing some video soon.

Watch out for this one and keep an eye on its continued development at her WEBSITE

Fjuk Artist Residency - Husavik

In all honesty, BATCHEDIT is one dude. Justin Batchelor. Running and gunning with equipment, creating stuff for good people.

Well it's about time to fill the need to explore and create. I have been fortunate enough to have been accepted into an artists residency in Iceland over their winter in 2015-2016. It's going to be a little chilly!

Sometimes you have to fill the creative urge, and thats why Tinmaker Studios was started. An outlet for personal creative projects.

Enjoy the first of 5 episodes of a new crime drama, PIT

Live Performance - Back to Back Theatre

Back to Back Theatre have been around for an eon, and they deserve to be. Their overwhelming contribution to the Arts in Australia and worldwide is attributed to their passion and drive.
Recently, they held their CAMP (Come and Make Performance) weekend, attended by a bucket load of awesome people.

And this was the result.

Mini Docos - City of Melbourne - MORK

MORK Chocolate is the kind of small business dream that just works. Passionate people and a wonderful product. The City of Melbourne runs a series of programs based around Grants and Sponsorships and MORK was a recipient to allow their business to get off the ground. Pretty chuffed that I was able to film the crew doing their thing inside a wonderful little venue.

Fashion - Kathryn Beker

Young people kind of give me the shits. Sometimes, it's because of the bogus fashion that they wear, but most of the time, it's because of how astoundingly talented they are.

Kathryn Beker is one of those in the latter group. A great talent, with a rich eye for detail and intricacy. Bonus is, she does fashion. And she does it well.

Fortunately, I was invited to film, yet again, another exploration in her 2015 clothing range. I am no fashionista, but this lady has it down pat.

Theatre - Malthouse Theatre - Meme Girls

Malthouse Theatre takes theatre goers on a wild ride with a new work staring Ash Flanders. Sure to be a hoot, the show is about the online abyss of the internets.

VicHealth - White Night

Good friend and associate at White Noise Children asked me to cover the bases for a VicHealth promo. Got some arty dance and what not over a few videos. This resulted in 4 videos, promoting VicHealth's "I Could Have Danced All Night" event for White Night 2015.

Saturday 14 February 2015

MSO at the Bowl

MSO time again and the opportunity to film a bump in for their free concert series was on offer.

And BATCHEDIT, with BAKEWOOD, took the plunge.

Operating with a new piece of gear, the Nebulus, allowed for some silky smooth action moments, sweeping pans and dynamic film. Mix it in with the Red and a GH4, and all is lovely in a 4K world.

Enjoy

Coranderrk - We the People

BATCHEDIT has been fortunate to assist the Vic Schools Board in creating content for the kids in school to learn some home truths about history of this country.

In the late 1800's the people that lived on the Coranderrk Station in Victoria grew and locally exported some of the finest hops for beer production in the state. Unfortunately, due to ignorance and racial discrimination, their work, and more importantly, their autonomy, was brought into question.

For they were Indigenous Australians. Living in a time when their humanity was treated unfairly, and their culture was continually brought into question.

Through the work of La Mama, and the continual work of a dedicated few, the transcripts of actual court cases have been brought into dramatisation. First through theatre, and now, with film.

Students in the coming years will have access to those transcripts through recruits, filmed by BATCHEDIT.

CoM MPAVILLION

Get used to the acronym of CoM (City of Melbourne). For over a year, BATCHEDIT has produced content for the council as the go to for social media content with the team at BAKEWOOD.

2015 is shaping up to a big ear in all respects, and we are looking forward to producing outstanding content for one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

First up is one of the latest for MPAVILLION. Plonking a structure in the gardens in Melbourne takes a lot, and thankfullly, Sean Godsell was on board to create a structure that sits so perfectly well.

Next, Tattersalls Lane, an recent iconic laneway in Melbourne that hipsters love, and locals adore. It has a bar made from shipping containers. 'Nuff said.

And a highlight from last year, the SIGNAL street art guys. With a timelapse slider. And paint....lots of paint.

2015 Abound

2014 easily changed its face and shifted into 2015. One of the fastest year's on record, and one that led to a lovely stairway to new heights.

The big partnerships for this year are with Gemma Turvey and the New Palm Court Orchestra, the Malthouse Theatre and the City of Melbourne.

Teaming up again with the crew at Bakewood will lead to more online vids for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the City of Melbourne. They are a busy bunch so who knows what else.

The internship ship is also sailing, as well as mentoring. All going well, will be teaming up with other like minded individuals whose passion and knowledge of digital media can be shared and encouraged. On both sides of the fence.

And maybe, just maybe its time to impress upon these folks that 4K is the way to go....if only Australia's internet speeds where up to the challenge.

4K all the way, click the cog for the 4K option (2160p) and be patient....
